I pray that I would not dream of mirrors I would keep one eye on them uneasily I feared that they would begin to veer off from reality or that I would see my face in them disfigured by strange misfortunes the horror of spectral duplication their eerie cosmic pantomime mirrors of metal and the shrouded mirror of sheer mahogany which in the twilight of its uncertain red softens the face that watches and in turn is watched by it it only takes two of them facing to build a glass labyrinth I saw all mirrors on earth none of them reflected me we are our memory that chimerical museum of shifting shapes the crystal spies on us everything happens and nothing is recorded in these rooms of the looking glass

Continuous cities duplicate houses in repetition re-creating themselves every morning the scales of their past harden into an immovable carapace a view from the curtained windows nameless faces gnawing on leaves devouring settlements bridges and hills devouring the sky

From concentric circles like tree rings growing a meridian spectre looms on parallel bodies ranging on the perimeter of late summer's walls distances transfigure like transparent dragonflies extinct forgotten species lurking for ages in lethargic hideouts leap from obelisks like gleaming basilisks

Variations on a theme the reader goes through them like a figure in the carpet the writer dies with a secret left unsolved the story ends consecrating the discovery of a repeating pattern hidden in many volumes

Pestilential weather clouds blow out the sun a barren mist covers the sky cyclopean pylons shapes of hideous giants from the pale frame of the mountain shadows advance oblique solar blades sink into the edges of the balusters from the inner temple an appalling noise lugubrious cavernous drums an infernal lament the cut off beak of the statue opens into a grin the god speaks in growling curses and the desert moves like a slow guarding beast crawling towards the exhumed shrine landslides pour into crevices from ledge to ledge a low choir of a thousand swirling murmuring voices sand flows down from the precipice touching the pedestal

From this city armies departed some came back now they are no more we once had two tyrannies incessant obloquies in each everyday act now they are no more a man who knew every word observed with minutiae every part of flora and fauna defining them for all time writing with burnished metaphors the vast chronicle of tumultuous sunsets and the forms of the moon they are no more they have never been they will never be from generations ordinary vicissitudes the eternal matter of art now they are no more what once happened happens again ad infinitum visible columns disappear and the dream of one is the memory of all

Apocryphal enlightened figures usurped the wiseman's name inventing fictional works and false attributions to inflame the great star with the heliotrope to divine the future with the chelonite in an allegorical dream Mercurius riding the peacock consigning the keys to his mythical dwelling and a chest with four locks that hid the alchemical mysteries like the other key to open the sanctuary which somebody cast into the azure

A thousand wells above a subterranean lake everything that moves below the sun is pushed by waves crashing against the calcareous sky of rock gods residing within mills and water columns or in the crimson hexagon above the roofs away from these valleys the empty earth stretches out to the horizon

Outside the chamber into an interminable passageway down a flight of stairs into the library lounge the other labyrinth a timepiece in the hall shows overlapping dates between two hemispheres

Searching through all the 14,516 palaces each one a replica in every single detail every inhabitant and prince believing in their own uniqueness unbeknownst of the existence of more than ten thousand duplicates in every room the same setting repeating simultaneously each shadow cast by palms and statues fountains and drapes in every room the same setting each vase and pillar each corridor and hallway

A collection birthed from a peculiar finding: a cassette tape showing never-heard before band monikers, bizarre titles and full sets of lyrics which seem to be vaguely inspired by magical realism and the literary works of Italo Calvino and Adolfo Bioy-Casares.
The cassette's musical content is equally as puzzling: twelve tracks of diverse raw black metal, featuring the synth laden instrumentals of HOUSE OF ASTERION, the doom-influenced HADIQAT, the thrashing speed of MURAL CROWN, the power electronics/industrial drift of ANTIQUARIUM, the second wave attack of ORRERY and the two-faced experimentations of THEATRUUM.
Whether this compendium is rooted in reality or merely an exercise in musical illusion is entirely up to the listener. Nevertheless, it is definitely a preview of things to come for some of the featured projects.
