2021 has been a very prolific year for the communion between Sacrilegious Crown and Xenoglossy, with an EP and two demo reissues released thus far, so we are honoured to continue combining efforts with "Meditations on the Revenant Enigma".
A collaboration with another longtime Xenoglossy associate like Illuminated Manuscripts was long overdue and rather natural, since both κενός and Kobold are on the same page artistically, sharing ideas about creating a haunting and puzzling sonicscape within raw black metal and dark ambient.
Sacrilegious Crown's first track "Tenebra I - The Profound Secret of Eternity" is a continuation of the style explored in their latest EP "Plenilunium Cult", while the second track "Tenebra II - Wandering Through the Ancient Mountains" is an experiment in what is nowadays called "dungeon synth".
Illuminated Manuscripts is once again treading new musical paths in instrumental black metal, leaving behind their slow and atmospheric riffing, opting for faster tempos and tighter, downtuned guitar parts. The result is nevertheless so dense and impenetrable that it remains somewhat close to dark ambient's mysterious aura.
Out on August 6th 2021 on high grade black cassette tape in 25 handnumbered copies.
