Hailing from the city of Florence, Italy, VACUO makes its debut with a weird yet fascinating EP, titled "To Languish and Despair" and released by Xenoglossy Productions on limited tape and digital formats.

Coming from a geographical area well known for the terrible events of the so-called "Monster of Florence" (probably the most ferocious serial killer in Italian history), VACUO conveys the pure black void through its music. A., the sole member behind the project, takes his cue from the glorious low-fi black metal from the 90s, in order to write barely audible riffs that scratch the surface. Like a sort of blackened iceberg, many influences can be recognized beneath the black metal riffs: dungeon synth, noise and electronic elements add further layers of black to VACUO's compositions.

Aesthetically close to black metal, VACUO goes beyond the borders imposed by the genre canons: "To Languish and Despair" is experimental and hell-ish at the same time, challenging genre classifications and the fans themselves. Coming in a pitch black tape edition, this release is limited to only 30 copies.
